Abstract. In recent years, more attention is paid to the use of ICT in education for more effective and successful studying in school especially in terms of teaching a foreign language. The Russian education market provides tools for preparing students for the oral part of the Unified State Exam in a FL, but there is no tool for the oral speech competition preparation. The paper provides the results of the study on using an online simulator for preparing schoolchildren for the speaking competition. The obtained results prove the fact that students need a means to prepare for the oral speech competition, since the respondents highly appreciated the usefulness of the simulator.
