Abstract. The article puts forward a hypothesis that the language of post-drama theatre can be considered as a model for the study of discourse in the digital media environment. The hypothesis is due to the fact that this type of theatre particularly acutely raises a question of the limits of a play with the semiotic nomination of language. One of the productive approaches to answering this question proposes to consider the concept of “deep semiotics” in combination with the concept of “deep play” by C. Geertz.
