This article, written on the basis of official documents of the European Union, examines the issue of the efficiency of joint EU-Ukraine projects at an early stage of cooperation between the parties. The author concludes that some joint projects were often ineffective, thus failing to prevent the rise of social tensions in the long run and
to minimize the potential for conflicts in the country and the region as a whole.
