The article examines the current situation in the modern and ever-changing world. The world built on stereotypes becomes multipolar, creating a situation which cannot
but cause the confl ict of interests between the states and which calls for analysis in terms of its prospective development. The principal thesis of the article is that Russia
is both the key player and the object of the world politics.
