The paper cover the main features of the individual grammatical norm of Nil Sorsky
concerning past verb forms. The research is based on the “Life of Symeon Stylites of the
Wonderful Mountain”, a part of the “Collection of Greek Saints’ Lives” by Nil Sorsky.
The author of the paper studies in what way the concept of simple preterit forms’ usage
changed in the late 15th – 16th centuries compared to the previous period of the Church
Slavonic development.
