The paper describes features of graphic figuration of nicknames within the virtual
discourse. The analysis of the existing points of view on the interpretation of the
term “linguistic sign” is carried out. The paper describes several basic characteristics
of nicknames as markers of demonstration and implementation of linguistic creative
potential of a modern language personality. Based on the analysis of the collected
linguistic material, the author identifies types of graphic figuration of nicknames within
the modern virtual Russian-language discourse.
