The localisation of Russian cinematography studies in Primorsky Krai reconstructs
to a great extent the tendencies of the cinema history in the all-Russia context. The
development of Primorye cinematography is considered at the point of its origin – in
1938 – the historical date of the birth of Primorsky Krai. The author explores the structure of regional cinematography, peculiarities of the city and village cinema circuit, as well as the specificity of cinema development planning in Primorsky Krai in the late 1930s.
