The article is devoted to the interrelation of family cohesion indicators with the level
of empathy and social and psychological adaptation of teenagers from dysfunctional
families with alcohol-addicted parents. The complex of techniques is applied as
diagnostic tools: “The Study on the Level of Empathy Tendencies” by I. Yusupova,
“Family Adaptation and Cohesion Scales (FACES III)” by D. H. Olson, J. Portner, and
Y. Lavee adapted by M. Perrez, the technique of diagnostics of social and psychological
adaptation by K. Rogers and R. Diamond in A. Osnitsky’s modification. The conducted
research testifies to the low level of family cohesion, family adaptation and social and
psychological adaptation of teenagers from dysfunctional families, and the variability of
empathy indicators among teenagers with alcohol-addicted parents.
