The article is devoted to interethnic conflicts and ways of their coverage in the mass
media. The Kosovo conflict is chosen as an example (the unilateral separation of Kosovo from Serbia in 2008). The publications from “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” and “The Washington Post” are compared. The author evaluates the style of material presentation, criteria of facts selection, and originality of composition.
