The article defines the etymological semantics of time-forming morphemes of the perfect and the imperfect in modern Arabic in the historical context. The author draws attention to the fact that in the Northeast Caucasian languages a consonant in combination with a vowel and a vowel after the probable syncopation of a consonant may have the meaning of being. The author illustrates the verbalisation of mental entities with combinations of historical word-syllables with the contextual meaning.
