The article presents the results of the experimental study on the formation and development of ethnocultural competence of teachers in the process of continuing education. It was found out that the interconnection and succession of higher education and postgraduate education, which combine formal, non-formal and informal stages of education, are the most important conditions for the development of ethnocultural competence.
