The paper identifies principles that are a basis for the formation of socially oriented
individuals in the process of socio-cultural activities in student creative associations. The main ones are: developing and bringing up tuition, unity of education and upbringing, systematicity and systemicity, integrativeness, humanisation of education, upbringing in a community and through a community. The allocated principles are theoretically grounded and characterised.
