Investigation of modern lexicographical tools of substandard dictionaries and glossaries is impossible without a thorough and in-depth analysis of the historiographical traditions in the sociolexicographical aspect. The article presents a review of sociolexicographical ideas, approaches and concepts of substandard dictionaries’ compilers in modern foreign Anglistics.
