The article brings up the issues of the need to defie the cultural bounds of the Silver Age. The author believes that verifiation of its essence, chronological framework and spatial limits can conduce to deeper interpretation of the Silver Age as an integrate social and cultural phenomenon, formed on the basis of worldview of the Russian cultural élite of the late 19th and the early 20th centuries.
