 Peking opera is the most wide-spread and popular form of Chinese opera loved throughout the country. Face-paint and costumes of primary artists were made and modifid during the long period under the inflence of the development and establishment of the country and Peking opera as a separate art genre. Today face-paint and costumes of Peking opera have a lot of problems that are studied in this paper. Th author analyses the sources of forming, development and various points of view on these important and integral attributes of Peking opera.
