The paper describes the contemporary issues of studying the Russian letter genre by
foreign (Chinese) students. As a result of the experimental work, the author reveals and
describes the following problems: features of the Russian business letter genre and spheres of its functioning, forms of letters (handwritten, printed, email) and the culturological fild of the Russian letter genre, which is an especially diffilt form of communication for a foreigner.
