The article traces the fundamentally new forms and methods of the military patriotic
activity of the authorities in the 1970s intended for the young generation throughout
the country and the Kursk region in particular. An important role in the development
of social activity of young men and girls was played by youth commissions created at all
levels – from the Supreme Council of the USSR to village councils. As to the CPSU, it
cared about the improvement of the educational, cultural and technical level of the youth, its comprehensive and harmonious development, determined the place of the Komsomol in this work, and Kursk Polytechnic Institute was not an exception.
