The research is devoted to the poorly studied questions of commendation of policemen
in the Tobolsk province in the early 20th century. The author considers fragments of
everyday service, for which law-enforcement offirs were singled out for rewards such
as medals, orders and prizes. The composition of awardees is analysed. The revealed
problems are studied on the basis of the material that has not been introduced into
scientifi use before, which helps to make relatively objective conclusions.
