Call Сenter Work Experience: a Comparative Study of India and the Philippines

In the focus of attention is a variety of non-customer-facing, back-offi ceclerical and administrative work which is usually referred to as call center. Recent developments in computer and communication technology have shifted the site for this work to developing nations. India and the Philippines are considered to be the two largest providers of outsourced services involving a range of work from low-skill customer service and sales to high-skill banking, engineering, and medical services. In the article a comparative study in order to sketch out the similarities and differences in the work process and its effects on workers is done.
