The problems of modern education discussed in the article are related to the increase
of social complexity. Basing on the concept of pedagogical diagnostics formed by
O. Shpeck, a famous expert in the fild of therapeutic pedagogics of Germany, the author
of the article analyses the ability of the systems theory to overcome the defiiencies of
pedagogics and to enrich diagnostics as the most important component of teaching with
new meanings.
