“EXO-ZEN” AS A PHENOMENON OF THE WORLD CULTURE

The article deals with the modern forms of Zen Buddism in the world culture. The Japan
Zen transformation in the Western culture from the middle of the 20th century, and
formation of “globalised” Zen as a kind of a neo-religious movement focused on the
psychotechnical practices are considered. The fact of the new kind of modern Zen, which is named “Exo-Zen”, is proved. It is a polycultural, psychotechnical, and non-religious practice reflcted in diffrent types of cultural activities. Th main features and levels of “Exo-Zen” are analysed.
