The famous Russian sinologist, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 2008 and corresponding member since 1987, Chief Scientifi Offir of the Department of
Asian and African Literature of the Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian
Academy of Sciences, leading expert on Chinese literature and folklore studied the
continuity of Chinese classical novel and its relationship with the spoken tradition,
researched the aboriginal mythology of Taiwan and the history of Russian sinology. For
