The article considers the problem of the words that directly nominate interest. The article
is based on the interviews of the English and American writers Julian Barnes, Geoffey
Hill, Alan Hollinghurst, Woody Allen, Peter Ackroyd and others. The author of the
article offrs the defiition of the term “interest”, the main psychological classifiations of
emotions and gives the analysis of the words that nominate the emotive state of interest
in British and American interviews.
