The article presents the main results of systematisation of the translation methodology.The three-level gradation of translation technologies is built. The prospects of the holistic approach to translation are pointed out. The analysis is based on the language facts of redundancy and shortage in bilingual communication, which are studied in the German and Russian languages. The author specifies the transcendental nature of translation and proves the fundamental translatability of redundancy and shortage.
