The article provides the analysis of certain characteristics of women’s education in the traditional Chinese society. The main emphasis is on Confucius’ doctrinal commandments, which are refl ected in the valuebased and norm-setting perceptions of a woman’s social status and her role in the Chinese society. The articles analyzes pedagogical ideals of the traditional education for women.
