The article focuses on the axiological analysis of the literary text which is undertaken to reveal its aesthetic value. The latter has a positive effect, both subjectively and objectively, on the spiritual well-being of an individual and the society as a whole. Within the boundaries of a literary work, similar effect can be traced in the characteristics of the protagonist and the general setting of the narrative. The analysis of aesthetic values of a narrative is based on “The Tragegy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark” by William Shakespeare.
