The article is devoted to the features of the Bible texts interpretation in baroque German
vocal music based on the theoretically well-founded doctrine about musical rhetorical
fiures, taking into account the following areas of contact: rhetoric, homiletics and
exegetics. The author’s goal is to study the development dynamics of the exegetical
approaches used by baroque Lutheran composers.
