Abstract. The paper presents а comprehensive study of the phenomenon of self-restraint as a socio-psychological factor in personality development in the post-crisis conditions. The author describes the socio-psychological specificity of the tendency to self-restraint during a post-crisis and reveals the connection of self-restraint with personal characteristics, coping strategies, eco-facilitational orientation, psychological protection mechanisms, as well as selfactualisation and subjective well-being. The author also identifies levels of self-restraint of personality in the post-crisis conditions and reveals socio-psychological indicators of personality self-restraint in these conditions: positive (related to the experience of meaningfulness and satisfaction with life; recognition and adoption of one’s own resources and restrictions; confidence in the possibility of choosing a life path; personal growth and a sense of continuous self-development, etc) and negative indicators (determined by a sense of self-alienation, dissatisfaction with oneself and disappointment in oneself; absence of a clear time prospect, feeling of personal stagnation and absence of a sense of personal progress, etc).
