Abstract. The purpose of the article is to highlight the economic aspects of the functioning
of exhibition associations of artists in Russia at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. Under-
standing the role of commercial associations of artists in the structure of the domestic art
market opens up opportunities for a more in-depth and detailed studying of the features of
the artistic life of Russia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
