Abstract. The paper is devoted to the piano pieces and the characteristics of the performing style of Theodore Leschetizky, the head of the large piano school of the 20th century. It is emphasised that the composer’s miniatures are very original, refl ect the atmosphere of the era, have considerable artistic value and can certainly arouse interest among modern audiences, which is proven by artistic experiments undertaken today. The article analyses the problems facing modern performers of Leschetizky’s piano pieces.
