Abstract. The article deals with the stylistics of a modern musical and choreographic performance in China. The author of the article highlights these problems using one of the bright ballet performances called “The Red Detachment of Women”. The ballet combines the revolutionary ideology, classical artistic skill and folk dance traditions. The stylistics includes the techniques of Western ballet with expressive means of Chinese folk dance and integrates Chinese and Western cultures in the fi eld of ballet art.
