The analysis of the concepts “Fourth Industrial Revolution” (Industry 4.0) and “Virtualisation Web 5.0 Global Infofield” shows that their content intersects. In essence, this is an interpretation of the same phenomenon from a predominantly economic and predominantly sociological points of view. At the same time, the concept of Industry 4.0 takes into account all the latest technologies and does not single out those that can fundamentally change the life of society. The paper examined the preferences of the younger generation, which in the near future will have a significant impact on the virtualisation process, contributing to the growing popularity of remote work and virtual communication. Virtualisation was also considered in connection with the process of social anomie, its potential to create not only socially positive, but also socially destructive consequences in the life of society.
