THE NEED FOR AN INTEGRATED APPROACH TO THE ART DESIGN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME IN PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITIES

At present, theoretical studies that make up the methodological basis of the Art Design
educational field indicate that its structure is not cohesive and well-ordered. In addition,
the relationship of this scientific field with aesthetics, innovations in lifelong learning
pedagogy as well as with other related fields of knowledge has not been sufficiently
studied. All this leads to the isolation of academic disciplines and, as a consequence,
to the ineffectiveness of teaching. This paper attempts to substantiate the need for an
integrated approach to this educational area in order to identify its internal patterns
and develop a holistic and well-ordered pedagogical theory for students majoring in
Art Design in pedagogical universities, which will make it possible to combine isolated
disciplines and increase the effectiveness of teaching.
