Modern design education in China is a dynamically developing area of Chinese art
education, which actively absorbs foreign theory and practice, being in a continuous
search for effective ways to improve the quality of training. This article examines the
traditional model of teaching packaging design in Chinese universities, provides an
analysis of the current changes that have affected this area of design education. The
author also reveals and evaluates the advantages and problems of using the expressive
means of the artistic language of the Chinese national tradition in teaching packaging
design.
