This paper addresses issues related to the professionalism of a teacher of additional
education in the context of a general educational organisation. General approaches to
the concept of professionalism of a modern teacher of additional education are revealed.
The author defines trends in the development of this concept in the context of national
objectives of increasing the competitiveness of Russian education.
