The paper is devoted to the comparative analysis of the project of cultural psychology
of religion proposed by Jacob Belzen, a psychologist of religion, and the sociocultural
approach in the psychology of religion. The author of the paper compares the mentioned
approaches, marking the problem 来eld of the contemporary psychology of religion and
identifying the main aspects of interaction between religion and culture in society. In
addition, attention is paid to the various interpretations of the goals and objectives of the
psychology of religion.
