The paper reveals the main drawbacks in piano teaching in China. It is noted that the
work on piano technique should be reconsidered. The traditions of the Russian piano
school can help Chinese piano teachers to change the teaching principles. The paper
touches upon the innovations in technical perfection of pianists in the historical aspect.
The author reveals the main principles of the anatomo-physiological and psychotechnical
directions. It is stressed that reliance on hearing is the principal factor in the modern
methodology of pianists’ technical perfection.
