The article describes the methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language to Chinese students, based on the film “Loveless” by A. Zvyagintsev. The ascertaining experiment conducted by the author revealed the main difficulties that Chinese students encounter while watching the film. The author developed a linguistic and cultural methodology helping to remove difficulties in the perception of the film by Chinese students. It is assumed that the proposed methodology will help Chinese students to learn new vocabulary and understand the semantic content of words and expressions that are difficult for them.
