UNDERSTANDING A SUBJECT’S CONTENT BY MEANS OF PROBLEMATIC ISSUES

The problems of developing the activity-related and mental abilities of a person, a subject of cognition and a holistic personality have led to recourse to dialectics as a method of scientific cognition, to a method of dialectical learning as a progressive technology based on the principle of contradiction and the developed ability to construct problematic issues. The comprehension of the content of a subject, a scientific text through the development of key problematic issues, requiring the establishment of relationships between concepts, and the search for answers that reveal key contradictions, provides, in our opinion, unique means for developing the cognitive ability of the cogniser. Turning to classical philosophy and the method of dialectical teaching makes it possible to start the process of discovering new knowledge, comprehension together with students, on the basis of the principles of contradiction, unity of the historical and the logical, activity mediation, and cooperation. Mastering of concepts (knowledge) through problematic issues is considered as a process of understanding, in whose conditions a person’s potential in the development of thinking and creative abilities is revealed.
