The article is devoted to the method of cross-cultural analysis, which is one of the
effective ways of teaching. A comparative analysis of the elements of decorative and
applied arts is carried out using the example of Zhostovo painting and kumalan. In the
process of comparative analysis, a student involves psychological mechanisms: attention,
memorisation, and reproduction. Emotional and sensory perception is combined with the
formation of key concepts associated with the identi옟cation of decorative and applied
arts. The method of cross-cultural analysis enables undergraduate students to effectively
use the knowledge gained in accordance with the pedagogical competence in higher
education.
