The birthplace of the porcelain underglaze multicolour painting of the City of Liling is the village of Weishan. During the period of the Republic of China (1912-1949), a genre of abstract decorative ornaments and ornaments of porcelain objects, magically charming, simple and naïve, was created in the Weishan Folk Kiln. The items produced in Weishan Folk Kiln in the period of major historic and cultural upheavals became
a unique art phenomenon, with one-of-a-kind aesthetic mastery. These art objects refl ect the uninhibited creative spirit of the local pottery makers and their credo: “When an artist regards nature as his teacher and bonds with his inner feelings, then the true art object can be created”.
