Abstract. The article considers the concept of student-centered education as an educational
concept. The set of components characterising the concept of student-centered education
is specified. The way of formation and development of the concept of student-centered education is described. The authors consider the influence of student-centered education on
the transformation in the relations between the subjects of the educational process, within
which students acquire enhanced opportunities in managing the individual educational
process, while the teacher’s role acquires the nature of tutorship. The article also presents
the results of the student survey “The Assessment of Student Satisfaction with the Quality
of Implementation of Student-Centered Education Technologies at University” and makes
corresponding conclusions.
