Abstract. The article presents the results of analytical and experimental work on teacher training in the context of reforming domestic higher education. Possible solutions to the problems of additional education aimed at developing new competencies of a modern teacher are formulated. The main directions for creating a special educational environment on the basis of educational clusters are identified. The authors update the problems whose solution will optimise teachers’ training for work in new sociocultural conditions.
