Abstract. The article is devoted to the musical and pedagogical heritage of Miao Tianrui, a universally recognised founder of the basic theory of music education in China. The article represents the achievements of Master Miao in the field of musical lexicography, highlights his musical and pedagogical activities, identifies the main line of scientific research — the problems of musical structure and temperament, demonstrates the achievements in the methodological field, covering the creation of exclusive educational materials and adaptation of the Western European experience through the translation of iconic musicological research.
