Abstract. The article describes the formation of the conflict between social representations in the process of communication between people in the modern digital space. The change of the ways of interaction between the media and users creates a complex, stage-by-stage perception of incoming information by the subject, and its collective transformation into images, symbols and other forms of consolidation in the sociocultural field. Various consequences of the influence of this conflict both on an individual and society as a whole are considered.
