Abstract. The article presents an analysis of philosophical, sociological, psychological and pedagogical concepts of personality formation, identifies the features of the formation of socially significant personality qualities. Personality is a social concept that includes everything that is not natural; it arises as a result of the development of the cultural and the social. Socially significant qualities are a whole system of personality qualities, whose study is impossible without revealing the essence of the concepts of “person”, “personality”, “development”, “formation”.
