Abstract. This article is devoted to the analysis of intralingual interference cases shown by
learners who study English as their first foreign language. The paper considers the main concepts and classifications related to the phenomenon of intralingual interference. The author also provides examples of intralingual interference obtained through pedagogical observation at the Foreign Languages Center for Children at Saint Petersburg State University.
