Abstract. The article presents the results of a study devoted to the incentives for the formation of cognitive interest in adolescents. The author tries to answer the question: do the meaningful incentives allocated by G.I. Shchukina continue to work, and have any new incentives appeared? Based on the results of the experiment, modern incentives are identified, such as: the introduction of over-subject content, visualisation of educational information and gamification of the learning process.
