Abstract. The relationship between interdisciplinarity and subject matter in the context of
school education is explored. The authors examine how these two approaches can improve the quality of education and promote student development. The authors also consider the advantages and challenges associated with the implementation of the interdisciplinary and subject-specific approaches, and propose strategies for combining them effectively.
