The article is devoted to the method of optimisation of commodity stocks size in retail
trade, based on the use of the mathematical programming model. The application of the
proposed approach in practice may not only determine an optimal level of stocks as a
value that equals to the diffrence between the incoming and sold flw of products, but
will also improve an organisation’s profiability at the expense of rational placement of
funds in commodity reserves.
